Famous people of the early 1800s who were key figures in Western history.  These are some of the important people in Western history who lived and worked in the 1800s (or earlier) in what became Germany. Saxony was an important place during this era and the families that migrated to Wisconsin (the 1948ers) were likely influenced by this cultural background.
